Vadodara: As the world faces the escalating realities of climate change, REHAU India is setting a strong example of how sustainability is more than a pledge—it’s a way of doing business. On the occasion of World Environment Day 2025, the global leader in polymer-based solutions spotlighted its commitment to sustainability through innovation, grassroots action, and community engagement.

From its cutting-edge water recycling system at the Vadodara plant to nationwide clean-up drives, REHAU India continues to embed environmental stewardship in both operations and culture. In 2024, the company’s flagship “REHAU Return” program mobilized employees across Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bangalore, Pune, and Vadodara, collecting over 1,500 kilograms of waste in a five-day campaign aligned with World Cleanup Day. The collected waste was responsibly transferred to local municipal bodies for recycling.

“We believe sustainability begins with us and must ripple outward,” said Mr. Tushar Verma, Executive Vice President, REHAU India. “These initiatives reflect who we are as a company—people who act with intent. Whether it’s saving water, reducing waste, or rethinking the materials we use, we know that consistent, mindful choices drive real environmental change.”

A standout among REHAU India’s efforts is its water conservation initiative at the Vadodara manufacturing facility. The plant recycles approximately 2.1 million litres of water annually, enough to meet the annual needs of 25 families. This is especially significant for Gujarat, a state that faces persistent water stress and concerns over groundwater depletion.

Beyond operations, REHAU’s sustainability ethos is deeply embedded in its product design and engineering. The company incorporates eco-conscious materials, with offerings that are RoHS-compliant, DOP-free, and frequently made from post-industrial recyclates—across its range of edgebands, solid surfaces, and energy-efficient interior panels.

Globally, REHAU Group’s focused sustainability drive is showing measurable results. Between 2018 and 2024, the company achieved a 65% reduction in carbon emissions, cutting them from 135,157 tons to 47,305 tons—the equivalent of taking over 47,000 cars off the road for a year.

“This kind of progress reflects long-term, intentional choices,” added Verma. “Cleaner energy, smarter processes, and a drive to design better, cleaner, and longer-lasting solutions. Sustainability is not a constraint—it’s a design challenge.”

As the world pauses to reflect on environmental responsibility this June 5, REHAU India sends a powerful message: change doesn’t need to be loud, but it must be consistent. With practical innovation, thoughtful resource use, and a workplace culture grounded in accountability, the company is showing how industry can align with planetary priorities—one action at a time
