Jaipur: In order to realize the green energy and green hydrogen objectives of NTPC, a Joint Venture Agreement (JVA) was signed between NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) and Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (RVUNL), the state-owned power generation company managing thermal and hydroelectric stations in Rajasthan.
The JV is expected to develop renewable energy projects of 25 GW and green hydrogen developments and its derivatives of 1 million metric tonne per annum (MMTPA) in Rajasthan.
The Chief Minister of Rajasthan has dedicated 160 MW out of the total 320 MW solar power project in Bhainsara, Rajasthan to the nation.
The agreement was signed onin Jaipur, in the presence of Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Bhajan Lal Sharma.
The JV Company will undertake development of 25 GW of Renewable Energy Projects and 1 MMTPA of Green Hydrogen / Derivatives in the state of Rajasthan.
The JVA was exchanged between Sh. Rajiv Gupta, CEO (NGEL) and Devendra Shringi, CMD (RVUNL) in the august presence of Sh. Gajendra Singh Khimsar
Minister of Medical and Health, Jogaram Patel Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Manju Sharma Member of Parliament, Jaipur, Alok ACS (Energy) and other dignitaries from NGEL and RVUNL.
In September 2024, NGEL awarded Suzlon Group with a 1,166 MW wind energy order. Suzlon would supply and install 370 wind turbine generators for two projects of NTPC Renewable Energy Limited and one project of Indian Oil Corporation Limited-NGEL joint venture in Gujarat.
