New Delhi: In a landmark development for India’s renewable energy landscape, Solex Energy Limited, one of the country’s leading solar manufacturers, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ISC Konstanz, Germany, to advance research, development, and technological innovation in high-efficiency solar cell manufacturing.

The MoU, announced in New Delhi, marks a strategic collaboration between Solex and the renowned German solar research institute. Under the agreement, ISC Konstanz will provide comprehensive technological support to help Solex upgrade its upcoming TOPCon cell line and adopt cutting-edge Rear Contact and c-Si tandem/perovskite solar technologies.

As part of the partnership, Solex will also set up a dedicated in-house R&D line, leveraging ISC Konstanz’s patent portfolio to drive continuous innovation and next-generation solar manufacturing capabilities in India.

“This partnership marks a defining chapter in Solex’s journey toward technological excellence and global leadership,” said Dr. Chetan Shah, Chairman and Managing Director of Solex Energy Limited. “Under our Vision 2030, we aim to transform India into a global hub of solar innovation with a targeted valuation of ₹1 lakh crore, a $1.5 billion investment, and a team of 25,000 skilled professionals driving that mission.”

Dr. Shah highlighted Solex’s commitment to not just scaling capacity but delivering “unmatched value through efficiency, reliability, and performance.” He added that the company’s expansion into Europe and the U.S. will help realize its goal of making clean, affordable energy accessible worldwide.

Speaking on the collaboration, Dr. Radovan Kopeček, Head of Department Strategy and Education at ISC Konstanz, said:

“At ISC Konstanz, we have been improving photovoltaic efficiency while reducing costs since 2005. Our partnership with Solex Energy brings us closer to realizing a global energy transition through affordable and sustainable solar solutions.”

Under its Vision 2030 roadmap, Solex aims to establish 10 GW of solar module and 10 GW of solar cell manufacturing capacity, setting new benchmarks for India’s solar manufacturing ecosystem.

In a parallel announcement, Solex also unveiled the concept launch of India’s first Rear Contact Solar Module — the “TAPI Rear Contact”, powered by advanced N-Type technology.

The module achieves up to 24.60% efficiency and 665W power output, offering zero front shading and superior thermal performance. Commercial production is expected to begin by FY27.

The company also announced plans to expand its dealer and distributor network across India, Europe, and the United States, reinforcing its international growth strategy.

Notably, Solex Energy Limited recently migrated from NSE Emerge to the NSE Main Board, marking a major milestone in its growth journey and cementing its position as one of India’s most credible and future-ready renewable energy enterprises.
