New Delhi: To mitigate air pollution in the New Delhi area, the NDMC has now deployed a fleet of 08 Anti Smog Gun on all its avenue roads on hiring basis. This initiative will help to strengthen anti- pollution efforts of NDMC and make the environment more livable in the heart of Capital city.
As per official statement, these Smog Guns are GPS enabled and will be operating on main roads of the New Delhi area from 0800 hrs to 1600 hrs. These smog guns covered 360 km roads, lanes on a per day basis.
Newly deployed Anti Smog Guns are based on hydraulic operation and mounted on CNG operated trucks having a water capacity tank of 7000 litres.
Anti Smog Guns have the silent feature of 30 metre horizontal water throwing distance, 330 degree rotation in the horizontal plane and 60 degree tilting in vertical plane, size of droplets will be in the range of 10 to 30 microns and having 24 stainless steel nozzles to automize the water.
The water consumption of these Anti Smog Guns are 1500 litres per hour of each. The Anti Smog Guns are also displaying the environment related message for public awareness. The cost of hiring of 08 Anti Smog Guns will be 2.87 crore for the period of two years. These will be operated by one HMV Driver, one operator and one helper.
Besides this another Anti-Smog Gun/mist spray machine was procured by the NDMC and being used at Pt. Pant Marg in the NDMC area.
Alongwith total 04 Mechanical Road Sweepers (MRS) are already working in two shifts for the deep cleaning of road channels on the avenue roads in New Delhi area and they are covering the approximately 350 km roads length on a per day basis.
On a daily basis in the special cleanliness drive, Swachhta Teams are also not only sweeping the pavement and roads by brooms but also washing by water to wash the dust or other air pollution elements. This initiative is very important for reducing the air pollution in the NDMC area.
