Mobius Foundation premieres “Embers of Hope: The Fight for Our Future” — A stirring call for climate action

New Delhi: The Mobius Foundation, in collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery, unveiled its much-anticipated 10-part documentary series “Embers of Hope: The Fight for Our Future” at a grand premiere held at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan.

The event drew an audience of policymakers, academicians, environmental leaders, media professionals, students, and sustainability advocates, all gathered to witness India’s climate story told with rare emotional depth and cinematic power.

Narrated by veteran Bollywood icon Ms. Zeenat Aman, the documentary explores India’s most pressing environmental challenges — from deforestation and air pollution to biodiversity loss and rising sea levels, while highlighting inspiring grassroots initiatives that are driving meaningful change.

The premiere evening featured an exclusive screening of Episode 1, followed by the launch of the series’ official website, www.eohseries.com designed to serve as a hub for public engagement, awareness, and participation.

The series will debut across Discovery, Discovery HD, Discovery+, Animal Planet, and Animal Planet HD starting November 16, 2025, coinciding with the COP30 Summit in Belém, Brazil. It will be released simultaneously across India and other SAARC nations.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Pradip Burman, Chairman of the Mobius Foundation, issued a powerful call for urgency in climate action.

“The urgency to save our planet simply isn’t there,” he said. “We keep talking, but the action on the ground doesn’t match the scale of the crisis. The root cause of much of our environmental destruction lies in the burning of fossil fuels, yet this is not fully understood or acknowledged by many around the world. We have already breached the 1.5°C threshold, and that should alarm every one of us. The warning lights are flashing red.”

Mr. Burman further stressed the importance of addressing population growth in the climate equation, “With the global population now exceeding 8 billion, we are consuming resources at an unsustainable rate. Our ecosystems are under immense stress, and that imbalance is a major driver of climate change. If we truly want to restore planetary balance, we must address population growth alongside resource use, energy transition, and environmental protection,” he added.

Reflecting on her experience as the narrator, Ms. Zeenat Aman said the project resonated deeply with her. “Embers of Hope touched something inside me . I could relate to it in a very personal way,” she shared.

“It’s a powerful reminder that climate change is not a distant issue; it’s happening all around us. That’s why documentaries like this, powered by the Mobius Foundation, are so relevant and important. They open our eyes to the reality we often choose to ignore.”

“We need to get this message out to everyone. So many of us are unaware or indifferent, but we can no longer afford that ignorance. As individuals and as a society, we stand on the periphery of climate change watching it unfold but now it’s time we step into the centre of action,” Ms. Aman said.

Mr. Praveen Garg, President of the Mobius Foundation, outlined the foundation’s ambitious outreach plans. “Embers of Hope is a 10-episode documentary, and our vision is to take it far beyond its premiere on Discovery. We plan to reach people through schools, forums, Doordarshan, large colleges, and various media platforms,” he explained.

“Our goal is for at least one million people to watch Embers of Hope. More importantly, we hope it inspires action and brings meaningful change in the lifestyles of individuals, communities, and society as a whole” he added.

He emphasized the need for policy influence and collective responsibility. “Through this effort, we also hope to influence policy and encourage governments to take the right actions , because lasting change will only come when awareness translates into concrete decisions at every level,” Mr. Garg added.
