Emirates launches collectible amenity kits highlighting endangered species

Dubai: Emirates has introduced a new range of complimentary amenity kits for Premium Economy and Economy Class customers on long-haul flights worldwide, available onboard from December.

The new kits combine comfort, sustainability, and conservation awareness through collectible designs created in partnership with United for Wildlife.

The reusable amenity pouches are crafted from bio-based materials, including cactus, and feature a buttery-soft finish. Designed as a collectible series, the kits highlight some of the world’s most endangered species while reinforcing Emirates’ commitment to environmental responsibility. For the first time, Premium Economy customers will also receive plant-powered skincare wellness products from Aveda.

The amenity kits celebrate global wildlife across four natural environments the sea, sky, forest, and desert. Each pouch features hand-drawn artwork and includes a story card that offers insight into the endangered species depicted.

Species highlighted across the collection include African grey parrots, Arabian gazelles, Arabian oryx, Asian black bears, Bengal tigers, blue sharks, Bornean orangutans, Cape vultures, chimpanzees, fennec foxes, geckos, gibbons, glass frogs, green sea turtles, manta rays, painted bats, pangolins, peregrine falcons, red sand boas, small-clawed otters, straw-headed bulbuls, totoaba, and western gorillas.

Customers can also learn more about HRH Prince William and The Royal Foundation’s United for Wildlife by watching the documentary series Guardians on Emirates’ award-winning inflight entertainment system, ice, which spotlights wildlife rangers and conservation heroes working to protect the natural world.

For the first time since its introduction in 2021, Emirates’ Premium Economy Class features its own dedicated amenity kit. The generously sized bag includes a wrist strap and a selection of travel and wellness essentials such as soft socks, eyeshades, earplugs, a Colgate dental kit, and Aveda lip balm, Hand Relief moisturizing cream, and hydrating face lotion.

The socks and eyeshades are made from 100 percent recycled post-consumer polyester, while the story card and earplug packaging are produced using paper sourced from responsibly managed forests.

Available on longer-duration overnight flights, each Premium Economy kit highlights endangered species including pangolins, glass frogs, chimpanzees, Bengal tigers, Asian black bears, totoabas, small-clawed otters, manta rays, green sea turtles, geckos, peregrine falcons, red sand boas, fennec foxes, African grey parrots, painted bats, straw-headed bulbuls, and Cape vultures.

The new Economy Class amenity kits are colourful keepsakes designed to enhance comfort on overnight long-haul flights and include soft socks, eyeshades, earplugs, and a Colgate dental kit.

As with Premium Economy, the socks and eyeshades are made from 100 percent recycled post-consumer polyester, and the packaging materials are sourced from responsibly managed forests.

The Economy Class collection highlights endangered species such as Arabian gazelles, Arabian oryx, blue sharks, western gorillas, gibbons, Bornean orangutans, Bengal tigers, Asian black bears, small-clawed otters, manta rays, green sea turtles, peregrine falcons, fennec foxes, African grey parrots, and Cape vultures.

Emirates’ partnership with United for Wildlife reflects the airline’s zero-tolerance approach to the illegal trade of wildlife and wildlife products, a core pillar of the Emirates Environmental Sustainability Framework.

Emirates is a member of the United for Wildlife Transport Taskforce and plays an active role in global efforts to combat wildlife trafficking. Its freight division, Emirates SkyCargo, enforces a complete ban on the transport of hunting trophies from elephants, rhinoceroses, lions, and tigers.

In June 2023, Emirates further strengthened its environmental commitments by achieving IATA Environmental Assessment Stage One certification, along with the IATA Illegal Wildlife Trade module certification.
