Faridabad’s ‘Tree Man’ S.S. Banga leads by example in environmental conservation

New Delhi: In an era where the world is battling critical environmental issues like climate change, global warming, and pollution, one man from Faridabad is making a significant impact with his green mission. Mr. S.S. Banga, a successful industrialist and passionate environmentalist, has launched “Tree Ambulance” to not only save trees but also encourage society to reconnect with nature.

Tree Ambulance: An Innovative Initiative:- The concept of a “Tree Ambulance” is extraordinary, as this unique vehicle is dedicated to saving sick, scorched, or falling trees. Equipped with tools for tree repair, fertilisers, and water supply, the Tree Ambulance provides essential care to trees in need.

This is the first initiative of its kind in Haryana, launched by S. S. Banga using his resources. The ambulance reaches trees that are injured, deprived of proper care after transplantation, or in need of water and nourishment. Mr. Banga’s vision reflects a powerful belief that trees, too, deserve life, dignity, and dedicated service.

Plant Wedding Processions” and “Selfie with Plantation”:- Public awareness is crucial for environmental conservation. With this aim, S.S. Banga launched another creative and engaging initiative, like “Plant Wedding Processions.”

In this unique program, processions are carried out with plants like traditional wedding ceremonies, sending the message that the beginning of a new life should be rooted in a connection with nature.

Similarly, the “Selfie with Plantation” campaign encourages youth to plant trees and share selfies with their saplings on social media. This is an innovative effort to make environmental conservation a trending movement in today’s digital era.

Restoration of Ponds and Gardens:- Amid the growing concrete jungles of urban Haryana, S.S. Banga has revived several old and neglected ponds and gardens. Thanks to his efforts, many parks in Faridabad have become lush and vibrant once again. This has not only strengthened the local ecosystem but also provided the public with clean, peaceful, and green spaces for recreation and relaxation.

Through his initiatives, Mr. S.S. Banga is not only preserving the environment but also bringing communities together. His work inspires collective responsibility toward nature, turning environmental protection into a shared social movement.

Talking about these initiatives, Mr.Bagga said that environmental protection cannot be achieved through government efforts alone. Public participation is essential. People must develop a sensitivity toward the conservation of nature.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, through campaigns like “One Tree in Mother’s Name” and Mission LiFE, has successfully connected the masses with environmental causes, he further added.

Mr. Banga shared that, building upon the “One Tree in Mother’s Name” campaign, he initiated a drive to plant trees in memory of both parents. Just as a mother gives life, trees are the foundation of life.

To honour the memory of his late mother, Smt. Harjinder Kaur, Mr Banga gifted saplings to guests attending the prayer meeting held in her remembrance

To further instil awareness about tree plantation among children, Mr. Banga also plans to launch a “Green Certificate” campaign soon.

Mr. Banga’s efforts have been widely appreciated by various social organisations and local administration. He has been honoured with titles such as “Green Warrior” and “Tree Man of Haryana.”
