Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav arrives in Bali to attend G20 Environment Deputies meeting

New Delhi: Union Minister for Environment and Climate Change Bhupender Yadav and his team from the ministry has arrived Bali to participate in the G20 Environment Deputies Meeting and Climate Sustainability Work Group.

Sharing the information on his twitter handle, Union Minister said, “Will be sharing India’s best practices for building a sustainable future and raise issues concerning Common but Differentiated Responsibilities & Respective Capabilitie”.

The Third Meeting of the Environment Deputies Meeting and Climate Sustainability (3rd EDM-CSWG) will be held on 29 – 30 August 2022 and continued with the Joint Environment and Climate Ministers’ Meeting (JECMM) which will be held on 31 August 2022 at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center, Bali.

The meeting will be conducted hybrid (present physically and some virtually) and attended by 211 delegates from G20 member countries, invited countries and International Organizations. This meeting is expected to increase efforts in managing the environment and climate change

The EDM-CSWG at the G20 Indonesia Presidency brings up three priority issues that will be the focus on discussion at each meeting.

The three priority issues are: (1) Supporting more sustainable recovery; (2) Enhancing land-and sea-based actions to support environmental protection and climate objectives; and (3) Enhancing resource mobilization to support environmental protection and climate change objectives.
