GTB hospital to develop herbal garden in the campus: Dr Subhash Giri

New Delhi: Medical Director of Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital (GTBH) Dr Subhash Giri has said that the hospital is planning to develop the herbal garden in the campus and urged his colleagues to plant at least one tree in their life.

Dr Subhash Giri was speaking during the plantation drive in the hospital campus. He also insisted on the need to plant more and more trees to preserve the environment for the future generations.

The plantation drive was inaugurated by Rajindra Pal Gautam, Minister social welfare Department, in the presence of Medical Director GTBH Dr Subhash Giri and Principal University college of Medical sciences Dr Peyush Gupta.

The drive was undertaken under the guidance of medical director Dr. Subhash Giri which he called “to preserve the environment for the future generations”

“Various trees including fruit bearing trees like mango, Guava, Amla trees were planted during the programme, which will not only bear fruits in future but provide shade and will help in preserving the environment” said the official statement.

While speaking on the event Rajindra Pal Gautam, Singh said the intent of Delhi Government to provide more and more greenery in Delhi.

He said that the push towards large-scale plantation of saplings across Delhi has taken the total green cover in the national capital to 342 square kilometres (sqkm) 23.06 percent of the total geographical area.

Principal UCMS requested to develop an exclusive park bearing medicinal and toxicological plants for medical students in UCMS.

The Plantation drive was further made successful with the involvement of local RWA, nursing union and Rogi Kalyan Samiti members, senior doctors, officials and nurses who vowed to take care of planted saplings and plant more and more trees in the GTBH campus.

The planets needs many more to save the planet from the disaster due to pollution, heat, CO2 gen, contamination of water n soil leading to disturbances in ecology system and climate change..
